I want to tell what happen to us on Oct 2nd 2011. We were camped up far behind Canary south of Florence. The Old Weller Glenn Quarry is up there in the mountains. The rock quarry has been abandoned since back in the 70s.
Opening day of deer season was nothing to shout about. Saturday night we were eating under a blue tarp setup over our makeshift table. The weather was lousy. Windy and plenty of rain. Along about ten PM my wife said she had heard some kind of ruckus up on the opposite side of the creek up above the campsite.
I didnt hear it but half an hour later we listened to the most strange sounds we've ever heard. Somewhere above us there was the loud sound of something pounding on a tree trunk. Then on the other side of us off in a distance we heard the same type pounding on another tree in a different area from the first. Then a third and different pounding and some kind of low sounding gibberish came from the lower creek side.
The other couple with us had a recorder with them and taped the sounds. We think something was trying to communicate with the other ones. We are sure the 3 sounds came from far apart.
Monday we played the tape for a BLM person and was told the sound might be Elk moving. We don't believe it because Elk travel in herds. We are positive what we heard was three Sasquatches doing the loud pounding on tree trunks. Never before have we ever heard this type of thing.
I was on the non believer side of Bigfoot till that night. I have looked online and this seems to be a common thing with those creatures. They never came close to the camp and we never found prints but did find a large branch from a tree broke into and laying on the ground next to a tree missing some bark and some gouge marks on the hillside.
Thanks for a place to vent my frustration out on the lack of thinking with BLM.
